When God Stoops Down
It can be difficult to understand how and where to read in the Bible - especially the Old Testament. If you sort this podcast from oldest to newest, and start with the very first podcast, together we walk through the story that God is writing, starting in Genesis. We build on that beginning to highlight the important events, as we weave together, and begin to understand, God’s bigger story of relationship and rescue. Knowing the story from the beginning is important, because the more we know about God, the more clearly we can understand ourselves. If you’ve struggled to know how to understand the Old Testament, and how it is relevant to you now, this podcast will help you to discover more truths about the Lord, and yourself, through the story God has been writing since the beginning of time. As each podcast says, we want you to know more about who God is and who you are because of Him. This podcast is for those seeking to understand/learn the Bible, for those who need encouragement, for those who want to start their day off with an uplifting word, and for those who aren’t sure about God and want to meet Him in the safety of their own space.

God's desire to dwell right in the middle of your life. God is not a god that is absent, uncaring, unknowing. God is personal and His desire is to have a daily relationship with you. It's for this purpose that God instructed the Israelites to build the tabernacle. It would remind them God was dwelling in their midst.
Today’s verse: Exodus 29:46, “I will dwell among the people of Israel and will be their God.”
This podcast is designed to walk others through God's Word, starting at the beginning. If you haven't listened to the podcast, go to the episode list and sort them from oldest to newest to start in Genesis and get an overview of this story that God is writing. It's an important story to tell as we find our place in it and know more about who God is because of it.

Fear not and stand firm... those are the instructions that were given to the Israelites when they had the Red Sea in front of them and Pharoah's army behind them. They were terrified and could not see that God would make a way where it did not seem any way could be found. Haven't we all been in a situation where we could not see a path or a direction? But fear not, as we learn in today's lesson, God will guide you when you trust Him.
“Exodus 14: 13 “And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today.” (ESV)

“The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.” Exodus 12:13 (ESV)
One of the greatest rescue stories ever told, is our own. It's the moment we realized that we needed Jesus to rescue us from slavery and we painted His blood on the doorposts of our hearts.

“Moses turned to the Lord and said, ‘O Lord why have you done evil to this people? Why did you ever send me? For since I came to Pharoah to speak in your name, he has done evil to this people, and you have not delivered your people at all." Exodus 5:22 (ESV)
Do you ever feel discouraged? Where is God? Where is God in this? You are not alone. We discover that Moses also felt that way right before God was about to do one of the greatest rescues of all of history.

"Then Moses said to God, 'If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, "The God of your fathers has sent me to you," and they ask me, "What is his name?" what shall I say to them?' God said to Moses, 'I am who I am.' And he said, 'Say this to the people of Israel: "I am has sent me to you."'" Exodus 3:13-14 (ESV)
Not only do we learn God's personal name this week, but we also discover what that means for US. We are defined by God's name, not the names that we give ourselves or that the world gives us. When we find out who HE IS, we found out who WE are NOT.
