Proverbs 3 - Straight Paths

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes, fear the LORD and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.” Proverbs 3:5-8 (ESV)

Acknowledging God will make your paths straight. If you are unsure of how to move forward, if the road is curvy and you can’t see around the corner,  acknowledge God and keep walking forward. God promises to straighten the path so your direction is made clear. Acknowledge God in your relationships, in your hurt, in your doubt, in your finances. Acknowledge God in your decisions, and He will make your paths straight. Acknowledge Him and He has promised to give you wisdom. The secret though is acknowledging you NEED his wisdom. Your own knowledge and understanding is incomplete. It’s insufficient and it won’t get you very far. Those who are too prideful to recognize they need help will fall to their own ruin. Even Solomon told the Lord… I am but a child. We have so much to learn. We are never too far in our Christian faith, too old in our age to recognize that we are but children who have more to learn. So ASK.
