Genesis 33 - A New Name

Genesis chapter 33:20, “There he (Jacob) erected an altar, and called it El Elohe Israel." 

Jacob is giving God a new name - God, the God of ME. Is God YOUR God? Is He personal to you? Also, we discover in this story that God gives Jacob a new name, as well. His new name represents a new life and a new person, now fully surrendered to the Lord. You also get to be called by a new name. When we belong to God, we are called to live in freedom, in peace, in protection, as children of God Himself. Discover yourself in Jacob's story.
